SUMMARY:ICI All West Africa Summit
DESCRIPTION:It is no longer news that ‘the Christian Church is probably the most powerful institution in sub-Saharan Africa.’[1]  This is within the factual reality of what Andrew Walls described as “the passing of the Christian centre of gravity from the west to the south.”[2] Related to abundant natural resources it has also been established by several documented research effort\, including one of the  Harvard Business Review that Africa is  “home to many of the world’s biggest opportunities. \n\n\n\nThe vital convergence of the reality of massive Christian population and abundant natural resources should have world for sustainable emancipation of all Africans. However\, these realities are yet to be harnessed for the common good of our people. Not least because there are still many elephants in the room. What can we do about these elephants? \n\n\n\nIn our commitment to Mission for a Bright Continent and in response to current realities\, our first post-Covid all west Africa Summit will focus on the theme: Christian responsibility for Sustainable Economic Emancipation of Africans.  In addressing this\, we shall focus on three major elephants in the room: Economy\, Ethnicity\, and the Environment.  The Date for the Summit is 1-6 July 2024 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[1] Lamb\, David\, ‘The Africans\,’ London: Methuem\, rev. end 1985\, 141 as cited in Paul Gifford\, African Christianity and its Public Role\, (Indiana University Press\, Bloomington and Indianapolis\, 1998): 1. \n\n\n\n[2]Walls\, Andrew\, ‘The Translation Principle in Christian History’ in Philip C Stine (Ed) Bible Translation and the Spread of the Church. (E. J. Brill\, 1990): 38.
